I am Rashid Mehmood Khan, Group Leader of Visionary Foundation Pakistan.
We have started our work on 27th Feb 2009, as a youth group by attending an eye opening workshop at CIIM, CDGK, Pakistan. After that we start to visit different places like 1st Visit to Govt. Hospitals Child Ward and 2nd Visit to Pakistan Association of Blind Head Office, at Karachi, Pakistan. Where we meet some very inspirational personalities, those, who are spending their lives as passionately as we do excluding that they are disables from eyesight.
Our journey continues, and a major turn comes up when we attended an Orientation Session of Active Citizens Program of District Youth Assembly, Karachi organized by British Council, Karachi, Pakistan.
We learnt so many things, and we prepare and presented our "Braille Syllabus Books Project" Social Action Project to British Council in the Month of November 2009, and By the Grace of Allah British Council has accepted that SAP and our SAP selected many others SAPs those are presented by other Youth Groups.
After a comprehensive interview taken by the representatives of British Council of our Braille Syllabus Books, Social Action Project, our project selected for the "Active Citizen Award 2009-2010".
Mean while we organized several events like a workshop, Four days public awareness Braille stall, One Day free medical camp at a remote area of Karachi and so on…
